A business plan for new car wash to be constructed by someone new
to the car wash industry is generally more extensive than one to
buy or refurb an existing car wash. A plan for for a new car wash
to be constructed by someone already in the industry is often
not as extensive.
A rough guideline for someone new to the industry and who plans to
construct a new car wash is to write a business plan that is at least
one page of text for every $100,000 of loan. So if you are new to
the industry and need a loan for $1,500,000 it would be reasonable to
have a business plan that is at least 15 pages of text. This 15
pages does NOT including any schedules, photos, maps, charts, cash flow
projections, projections assumptions, or items in the appendix - just
text. If you are new to the industry it is reasonable to write a
business plan that is at least 10 pages of text even if the loan is
less than $1,000,000.
A rough guideline for someone who presently owns a car wash, plans to
construct a new car wash, and needs a loan for $1,500,000 would be
three quarters of a page for every $100,000, or at least 11 pages of
text. The plan probably needs to be no less than about 8 pages of
text, even if the loan is less than $1,000,000.
Even for someone new to the industry a business plan for a car wash
purchase, or for a purchase and modest refurbishment, is usually brief
- normally only about five to ten pages of text.
